Shelley R. Slade Testifies on Qui Tam Law & Procedures before the U.S. Congress
On May 7, 2013, Shelley R. Slade testified at a congressional hearing concerning the law and procedures pertaining to U.S. Department of Justice decisions on whether to intervene in False Claims Act qui tam cases. Ms. Slade was invited to testify by subcommittees of the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Government Oversight & Reform of the U.S. House of Representatives. Ms. Slade, who was introduced as a nationally-recognized expert in the field, provided written testimony and an oral statement, and responded to over an hour of questions from members of the two subcommittees. Her testimony was based upon her ten years of experience handling False Claims Act matters for the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and her thirteen years representing qui tam plaintiffs in the private sector.
